The World Thru My Eyes - I speak my mind and man does it like to talk.

This past year has been one hell of a political year for the US. Just about every issue faced by Americans has somehow turned into a politic an weapon or shield for this Administration and it's rivals.

But it seems that while our political system makes it seem as if the voters are the ones with the most power even though politicians do what they want regardless what voters want, today it seems politicians have a new, more powerful force to deal with. One that has the ability to stop them dead in their tracks. A bigger fish. I'm talking about Mother Nature.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. That's what some politicians on Capital Hill are singing as these unusual snow storms have D.C. under siege and unable to function properly. It seems Mother Nature was fed up with all this Climate Change, Global Warming crap going around lately that she decided it's time for these politicians in D.C. to take a break. If we're lucky, not only will we go for a few days without wasting money on useless legislation but maybe some of them may rethink their ideas and come up with better ones. Just take our beloved President Obama for example, eager to work out a Healthcare deal with the Republicans who up until recently had little if any power to stop him from basically doing what ever he wanted before.

Score one for Mother Nature. Let's just hope our politicians won't decide to work double time (doubtful) to make up for lost time.

Too bad those pollutions still draw a paycheck whether they "work" or not.

Well, just when I was hoping this would save us some money now it seems that this will cost us even more money.

Not only are the two blizzards estimated to cost taxpayers about $100 million in lost productivity every day the federal government is closed, but Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia are all seeking emergency federal aid to reimburse their budgets for the multi-million dollar storm recovery.

Lost productivity? Politicians not passing crappy legislation is not lost productivity.

At the risk of sounding politically incorrect, I am donning the feathers and loincloths of my ancestors and dancing around the bar-b-q pit chanting "We want snow....We want snow..."

Sing it BFD, I haven't seen snow in a decade. Of course I never experienced it as an adult so that's maybe why I don't see it as a bad thing.

You can have all you want!  Just bring a shovel and dump truck to my yard.

Doc:  This weather has prompted a couple of memories of 2:00 am phone calls to go out and plow and sand.  I guess I'll write'em up.

Looking forward to it!  I have shoveled more this year than any year that I can remember!  The only advantge now (versus 20 years ago) is that my driveway is paved - then it was gravel.
