The World Thru My Eyes - I speak my mind and man does it like to talk.

I just don't know what the deal is. I am using Fences Public and no matter what I do it continues to restart my explorer to the point of disabling Fences. Makes me wonder how well known this issue is considering there is a feature that disables it because of the fact that explorer crashes.

Can someone please help me out here. Fences is an awesome program and would really rather not uninstall it. I use to own the pro version but, Stardock rules about buying software are rather funny and thanks to my great luck I never downloaded a copy of it to my own hard drive (makes me wonder why we needed Impulse back then at all) so now I'm stuck with the public version.

Thanks in advance.

I have windows 7 ultimate 64-bit and fences works fine but I am using the pro version. When you say it doesn't work what kind of problems are you having ? It helps to give as much information about the problem as possible.

I'm using the free version on Win7, 64-bit and I don't have any problems.  I'm pretty sure if you purchased the pro version, there should be a record of it somewhere, and you should be able to contact Stardock and get access to it again.  Perhaps you're just being frustrated with explorer crashing and aren't being patient enough with them?

roflm

I thought I explained pretty well. I have win 7 64 bit and explorer crashes every time I install fences. what more explanation do you need?

already asked about past software I purchased and was literally told touch luck because I never downloaded the files before my subscription expired. As I said, I don't get the point of having Impulse (when it was from Stardock) to install the software when I had to download it anyways just to make sure I still had it after the subscription expired. Guess that's what I get for spending $75 on ObjectDesktop and $10 on ObjectDock. In other words, I never bought the software, it was simply a rental. And  was just too stupid not to make copies while I had it.

Regarding ObjectDock, that is never a subscription and always a purchase of that version standalone so you should be able to redownload that via the SD store My Products option.

You didn't specify upon installation. But thanks for the clarification, Your products are available via this link

https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

Once you login your purchased products will be available for download.

If it doesn't work after that try running as administrator (I know it's stupid to suggest but could work, if you haven't done so already).

Also, Impulse is no longer a Stardock product just to let you know .

Well thank you roflm, I have been trying to access that section for a while. was never able to find it. Site does not exactly make it easy to find. Sad though I can see ObjectDock but not ObjectDesktop. I miss my animated backgrounds, my Windowblinds and my Fences Pro. Oh well. Thanks again.

Yeah I agree it's not easy to find I had to bookmark it. I wish there was a lifetime licence for object desktop it would be nice.

Guys, i had the same problem,

It came to my mind to delete network shortcuts on desktop from work that i had, and when i deleted them there where no more crashes.

I think that when Fences starts and sees the shortcus it tryes to connect to the network, and when it`s not available it freezes and crashes.

Hope i help someone.

Cheers guys
