The World Thru My Eyes - I speak my mind and man does it like to talk.
According to article on palmbeachpost.com Revamped U.S. citizenship test goes into effect, a new citizenship test goes into effect today where " the new questions are designed to be more profound and test knowledge of basic civic concepts essential to being an American." Another articles give you a chace to try out you American education to see if you could pass the test yourself. Keep in mind this is a sample test, not the real deal.

Test article

Here was my score:

69 correct
31 incorrect

I could have done better, you'll see what I mean.

Please post you "honest" results (LOL). The only thing I saw was it doesn't tell you if you qualify or not. Does anyone know what one has to score to pass? Also, keep in mind the test is 100 questions long so it could take a few minutes.

I got 92%.  I did the George Washington oops, too, and some of them I just didn't read all the way through.  Figures.  Bad teacher.

The only reason I know this stuff is because I had to teach it.  If I hadn't taught it a couple of years ago I'd probably have a much poorer score.

73% - Never set foot in the USA, and have no particular interest in so doing, yet I qualified.

Incidentally, did anybody else notice that when there was an 'All of the above' option, it was almost invariably the right answer? Surely that's not particularly intelligent questionnaire design.

What is the qualifying percentage?

Yea, pretty much like the Trivia game that Rose set up for Joeuser about 2 years ago.  But another thing the "applicants" for citizenship have that you do not - they get all the questions and all the answers!  They just have to remember 10 of them.  Edumacashun in UhMerika!

What is the qualifying percentage?

6 out of 10 (they only get 10 of them) or 60%.  SO far, all you "fur-en-ers" qualify.

97% here.. though one of em was cause the screwed up washington one.  Hey, ya dont have to have a fancy degree to be educated!

I could have gotten all of the ones I did without the muliple guess as well.

Multiple guess is pretty much never a good way to test anything.  I think of them as watered down open book tests.  Open book tests to me should be long and ment to test research ablities.

do you know the name of the current speaker of the House? Or why the United States flag has 13 stripes? Or the role of the president's cabinet?

These are some of the 100 questions in a new citizenship test that went into effect today.

- that is funny, all three of those questions were among the required knowledge when i took my citizenship test months ago.

95%  Of the 5 wrong answers, 3 were due to not reading through to the "all of the above" , one was the George Washington is incorrect, the answer is George Washington. and one ligetimate wrong answer.  I said NATO was created to keep the peace instead of the UN.  Personally, I like my answer better.

on Oct 03, 2008

Personally, I like my answer better.

So do I.

on Oct 03, 2008

As do I, the UN is a criminal organization and has done nothing but harm.

on Oct 08, 2008

I said NATO was created to keep the peace instead of the UN.  Personally, I like my answer better.

Well, technically the UN were founded to keep the peace.

I agree that NATO actually did that job while the UN have probably caused more wars than they ever ended.
