Many musical artists have very interesting styles of writing music. One of my favorites is those who tell a short story in the song. Especially stories that shock you in the end.
The song Maria Teresa Y Danilo, played by salsa singers Hansel Y Raul tells the story of a rich family who’s father (Danilo) always dressed in suits and the mother Maria Teresa) always dressed in satin. The couple had 2 daughters, the older who wished to get married to her boyfriend. When the father met the b...
A couple of years ago, during my time in Puerto Rico, I would go to a local video store to get my fill of the latest DVD’s. While there I came across several VHS movies that I had seen as a child, brought back lots of memories. One movie, however, caught my attention, a movie I had not seen in years. I remember seeing Howard The Duck for the first time when it first came out in 1986. Back then this kind of animation was top of the line to some of us. I loved the movie; it was funny, cool a...
As Forest Gump puts it “It’s happens”, “Shit”, bad things happen to people unexpectedly. But how often does something very, very embarrassing happens to you? One time is more than enough as far as I’m concerned and it once happened to me. That was probably the worst day of my life, and it happened while I was a teen.
It happened about 17 years ago, I was about 15 years old. At the time I was living in Puerto Rico in a small town where everyone knew ...
No, I am not gonna give details here of myself that may prone a stalker to find me and maybe even try to kill me. But considering most here know very little about me, I would like to talk about myself a bit here.
I was born and raised in New Jersey and am of Puerto Rican background. I have always considered myself an American first, Puerto Rican second. I love my country and have always been proud to be American (even though being Puerto Rican would have still made me an American). I was l...
It would seem that Respect is not so much something that is earned on JU, but more like a reward for being invited to join a club or something. Some who come on this site are never really given a chance to become part of this community, they are labeled as “annoying” or something and regardless of what they do to change (if they do anyways), it’s too late. Then there are those who, from minute 1, reek havoc on this site to the point of driving everyone nuts and eventually getti...
Hello JU, how we doing? It's been nearly a month since I took a break. Due to habits I came around from time to time to take a peak at things. Looks like JU is getting back to normal little by little. I see some new names and many old ones still around. That's good, JU is a great place and would hate to see it go away for any reason (not that there was any talks about that, just me babbling).
I look forward to coming back soon; I kinda miss the good discussions, the occasional fight...
Well the time has come for me to say good-bye. It may not bea permanent good-bye (I might come around again someday to see how things aregoing) though I’m sure some will hope it is. I have a few reasons for leaving;I find myself in a time where I seem to be using the Internet to hide from myproblems so I decided to cute back a bit and move on to other things in life. One of the reasons is that the site has gotten a bit slow, lacking interesting articles. It seems only the regulars post o...
I have 2 things I would like to know about Vista. I have Windows Vista Home Premium on a HP Pavilion Laptop witha 1.66 Dual core Pentium M and 3 gigs memory.
1st question is a problem. Every time I start up my wife's laptop Internet explorer runs and opens a blank page that turns the entire screen white. I either have to hit the windows button on the keyboard to be able to see the taskbar and right click it to close it or runs task manager and close it from there. Any ideas as to why? I have ...
You know, sometimes I wish I would just stop trying to be funny (and I emphasize on "trying"). Every once in a while I see a chance for a small joke just to humor things a bit. It's in my nature I guess, I figure a little bit of humor goes a long way to making people happy. My problem seems to be, not in my good intentions, but in the delivery. Let's face it, I suck at comedy. I couldn't make anyone laugh if I had a comedian telling jokes for me while I stood on stage and lip synced.
I can't ...
Well now you can. Introducing Windows Vista SP1 toilet paper.
Now you can actually take Windows Vista and wipe your behind with it, you can crush it, burn it, flush it and even blow your nose with it.
According to Tomshardware.com, this baby is a quality 3 ply toilet paper with all of Vistas features on it. The only problem is it is written in Japanese Kanji so have fun trying to translate it while cleaning your behind. Then again you could always kill two birds with one stone if som...
Yes, it would seem the men and women of our US Postal Service in Florida will not have to worry about those extra letters they were gonna have to carry and deliver since the Democrats decided to abandon the idea of mail-in voting for Florida. For once they decided to listen to the people of Florida and realized they did not want to have to vote again.
Leave it to the Democrats to break their own rules and then try to find a way around them to make the Florida votes count. Sure, not long...
(inspired by Draginol’s article Treehugger.com is awesome)
Most people have an idea of what their dream house might be. Some have been lucky enough to achieve their goals in getting it. I too have a dream house of my own, but the chances of obtaining it are pretty slim considering my current financial situation.
The problem is my dream house is more than just a dream. Taking ideas from all sorts of TV shows like This Old House, Ask DIY Home Improvements and the many other TV show...
While browsing thru the Satellite channels today I came across a movie I had not seen in years. Air Force One with Harrison Ford. he's one of my favorite actors. I love all the Indiana Jones movies and I'm a big fan of Han Solo and his Millennium Falcon. As I watched how the President of the US (Harrison Ford) found himself in the middle of a hijacking of Air Force One and fought his way thru the terrorist to save is family and the rest of the passengers, I found myself wondering (as a joke) if ...
(Don't take the title too literally, I don't think Democrats are related to the Devil, but they come pretty close.)
Every since I decided I needed a new vehicle I knew a second job wouldn't be too far behind. I started working for a guy who has a valet parking business and I have to say it's been great. I get to drive incredible cars like Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, Bentley and Cadillacs. Pay is pretty decent too for the hours I work which average 3 hours.
Well tonight I had a job at a poli...
Now how can anyone vote for a guy who won't even use his own middle name as part of his campaign to run for President of the US? Some people think others are making too much of this middle name thing, but I think it's important. Why are you ashamed of you middle name Barack? Is it because it's a Muslim name? Is it because you are running at a time when Americans and Muslins are not seeing eye to eye at the moment? is it because you think Islamic extremist around the world will use you as a weapo...
