The World Thru My Eyes - I speak my mind and man does it like to talk.
I have 2 things I would like to know about Vista. I have Windows Vista Home Premium on a HP Pavilion Laptop witha 1.66 Dual core Pentium M and 3 gigs memory.

1st question is a problem. Every time I start up my wife's laptop Internet explorer runs and opens a blank page that turns the entire screen white. I either have to hit the windows button on the keyboard to be able to see the taskbar and right click it to close it or runs task manager and close it from there. Any ideas as to why? I have tried to find any start up files that might be doing this but have not been able to find anything.

2nd question is on the start menu. When you click the start button, in the image below you see where it has the Documents,Pictures, Music and Games. I was wondering if a link to the Video folder could be added or replace one of the links like the Games with the Video folder.

Thanks in advance.

For the first one...I'd have to suggest running a virus scan, anti-spyware (Spybot Search & Destroy, etc), make sure you antivirus definitions are up to date, etc. Might be something along those lines.

I actually do not keep a close eye on my wifes computer like I do mine. I have run spybot and AVG and have found things before. But not sure if it found this. Maybe I should recheck one more time.

I think this happened to me not long ago... I just hit F11 and it minimized. Then I just closed it and it never came back.  If its not that simple... then run scans for virus and Malware activity.

If you don't find anything with AV or Spybot, try checking System Configuration for startup programs (Win+R, msconfig).
