The World Thru My Eyes - I speak my mind and man does it like to talk.

Inspired buy a paragraph on Roylevosh’s interesting article “Masturbation is having sex with someone you love”, I am curious to know 2 things from my fellow JU readers.

For many years I have always wondered what I would do if I ever won the lottery. Most of the time I’d be happy with just winning the most basic lottery (usually $3 million). But it would be nice to with a big payout, especially when the Govt keeps about half of it in taxes.

I usually think about the basics, the home of my dreams, 2 cars (at least), my kid’s education and investing some of the money to make, well, more money. Some of the unusual things I think of doing is helping my family. Buying my mom and my sister-in-law a house, help my sister and mother-in-law pay their houses off, remember those who helped me when I needed it and help a local office that benefits the children of the community.

So here are the 2 questions I have for you JUers:

What would you do if you won the lottery, big or small?

                                         And

What would be the first thing you do once you got the money?

The second questions is different in the sense that you will probably not be able to do the bigger things such as buy a house or a car right away so chances are you will do something else, something you always wanted to do but could not afford it, such as a vacation, go to a casino, eat at a really expensive restaurant, or as Roylevosh would do the first thing I would do is get rip snortin’ drunk on tequila. Then I’d whip off my shirt and walk down the middle of the street screaming obscenities and flippin’ people off ‘n shit until the cops came and arrested my drunk ass for Public Intoxication. Then I’d go to jail and RAGE like a mofo in my detox cell ALL NIGHT LONG and make a right regular teetotal complete ASS outta myself. Then the next morning I’d see the judge, kiss his righteous judicial ass,  smile, pay my fine, and go my merry (and rich) way home.
Yeah, that’d be cool.

So, tell me what would you do?

One thing I would not do, run up a really heavy laod before I even get the cash in hand!  So many winners have done that and gone broke!  During the holidays they featured a lot of the past lotto winners and where they are now...let me tell you, those people are sorry they every won! (

I remember hearing a story about a guy who won the lottery and his life became a living hell when first he lost his daughter to an accident, then bill collectors started calling, charities and people simply asking for money to pay their bills. Then the worst part began. people started suing him for anything and everything. The scam was they figured he settle rather than fight it so they could make easy money. Makes me wonder if I truly wanna play. But it can't be that bad for everyone, otherwise stories like this will be heard all the time.

Oh yea, not being rude or anything but since you put what you wouldn't do, hows about you put what you would do.

I would cry! Knowing that most of the money would go to the ex!

With the rest, I would give a ton to my favorite charity. Pay off some debts, invest the rest in a retirement fund. I am fortunate in that I do not have to worry about money right now. I am not rich, but I am not struggling any more either.

What would I do immediately? March into Ted Matthews' office and tell him what an idiot he is! Now if that got me fired, so what!

I would buy a bad-ass house. Nothing huge, but something really nice that caters to the tastes I have. Maybe two - one in the States and one in Europe.

I would work on acquiring a mouth-watering personal library, to be donated to the University I work for when I retire or die, whichever I decide when I'm old an decrepit.

I would aggressively invest large portions of it, putting away big chunks for the (eventual) kids, and just basically have a good time.

(This is of course for a large winning.)

What would I do immediately? Go out to dinner.

I would immediately drive to the airport and take off on an extended vacation. Long term, I would like to go to college full-time without having the worry of bills and drive a car in which the AC works.  Other than the trip around the world, I don't need a lot.
