The World Thru My Eyes - I speak my mind and man does it like to talk.
Well maybe not exactly drill them but more like drilling off shore for, you guessed it, oil. According to Foxnews.com, Bush will appeal to Congress today to lift the off shore moratorium's to allow for drilling off our coast. Something that should have been done a long time ago. The US is the only country to have these blocks on drilling off our own coast.

But the idea of drilling off our coast does not stop there. Once an strong opposer of drilling in the Gulf of mexico, Florida Gov Charlie Christ has now changed his mind about the idea of drilling off the coasts of Florida. Like Bush, Gov Christ is also agreeing to lift the federal moratoriums while expressing his support for Sen. John McCain, as reported by www.palmbeachpost.com.

It's amazing to see how soring gas prices have pushed people to do things they never bothered worrying about or would normally take many years to come up with a possible solution. Everything from Electric and Hydrogen vehicles are now becoming the focus of many automakers and hybrid vehicles are starting to become best sellers as the demand for these kind of vehicles begin to rise with the fuel cost. And now the once admired, loved and defended teeth and nails SUV is starting to take a back seat to smaller more gas economical and efficient cars. Heck it's to the point where Chevolet is actually considering stopping their SUV production to focus on their newest toy, the Chevy Volt, an electric vehicle ( a bit on the expensive side) with a gas motor to charge the baterries. With a small 6 to 7 gallon tank, this vehicle is said to be able to go 400 miles on a full tank since the gas is used only to charge the batteries while the car is designed to run on electric power at all times. Not bad.

We are also seeing some talk about doing things many said they would never consider and new ideas on new energy sources. Drilling (as I mentioned before above) is something more and more people seem to be accepting as reality, hydrogen and electrical power is becoming more and more common and now some scientist even came up with a possible solution to our eventual oil supply run out. A genetically engineered bacteria that is capable of eating certain kind of garbage and excrete it into oil. Wow, a bug that poops oil, who would have thought. Hope they keep the movie "I am Legend" in mind while they work on this great but scary idea.

So there you have it, off shore drilling talks, hydrogen and electric vehicles replacing SUVs (of course some of these electric and hydrogen vehicles are SUVs), bicycles & scooters the new cool way to travel and a bug that can poop oil. And all of this in just the last year or so. I guess when it comes to drastic changes, people are willing to hold their breaths till the last second before accepting some of the realities of life, that sometimes survival has to come before making money.

First,
I was hearing Newt Gingrich talk about Drill here Drill now, Pay less campaign (not sure who started it) way before McCain or Bush made these public statements.

Second,
McCain could easily bury Obama and any opposing democrats but his own voting record resembles the waffle house when it comes to drilling rights for the oil companies leaving with a very little foot to stand on. The only consistent record he has is regarding ANWR. He has consistently voted against drilling there. Of which I might note that Alaskan Gov. Palin-R is currently suing the US Congress and House for wrongly putting the Polar Bears on the Endangered species list (wikipedia). There is rumor that Palin is on McCain's VP list. Her resume as governor is pretty impressive (from what I've briefly read).

Third,
It will be interesting to see how Democrats respond to this. Did you know that currently the Oil companies are paying approx 47% in Taxes on their profit(and some how they are still the bad guys)? Did you know that it is the Democrats who led the charge on prohibiting drilling in ANWR and off the coasts?
The Democrats are the major reason our gas prices are where they are at and are going. America needs to take a page from Reagan with a "Produce your way out" campaign. Russian and European economists are already speculating the economic demise of the US (Moscow Times).

It is truly sad that the US oil companies pay more in taxes (as a percent) than the oil companies in Russia do. In fact before Putin left office (as President) drastically reduced the corporate taxes on oil companies.

Oh. I thought Bush was going to have an affair.

Too bad. Then we could impeach him, since the heinous things he's already done don't seem to get him closer to it.

I had heard about this before but not much importance was put into this argument. You know, the "it doesn't affect me so I don't really care" attitude of many Americans now a days. But now that most are paying at least $4.00 a gallon and on top of that everything else is going up, its possible even the Iraq war could become a "maybe it wasn't such a bad idea if we get cheaper oil" argument at this point.

Well again we find ourselves voting for the lesser of 2 "somethings". In this case it can be the lesser of 2 idiots or the lesser of 2 Democrats. I also heard Florida Gov Christ is also on McCain's list of possible VP buddies. Not sure about his resume though.

I do however love how people will first b_tch about how someone does not agree with their point of view but once that person decided to change his/her mind they are now flip-floppers. What ever happened to having the right to believe in what you want? And to change it at will? since when does someone have to believe in one thing for ever?

I actually heard and read about some of these things. Was unaware of the 47% tax they pay though. Ouch. How is it we are a deficit again? But not many will agree, in the end the majority of the adults in this country must be idiots if a single man is able to screw up an entire country, since everyone blames Bush alone for everything. I am curious to know how any single person would feel if they had no choice but to take the blame for say their children even if their children where 55 years old for anything they did wrong, but would not get praises for anything they did right?

Leave it to liberals to whine about irrelevant things and not address the issue. Dont expect them to change in the future either. Whining seems to be their only recreation.

As for what is happening (Electric, hyrdogen) with 4 and 5 dollar gas, that is good! Getting the Mid east monkey off our back will help us in the long run. What Bush wants will only help in the short run. The world demand is increasing, and nothing short of a conversion to other sources is going to change that.

Hmmm, with Hillary? Yuck on both ends.

Too bad. Then we could impeach him, since the heinous things he's already done don't seem to get him closer to it.

When you say heinous, do you mean criminally heinous or just plain heinous by your definition? Just curious.

Didn't I hear something about Bush is being charged with lying about the war or something recently? Some papers filed or something about a week ago or so?

Yes, that's my understanding as well. I'm not sure Crist (not to be confused with Christ ) will do much to pull many conservatives towards McCain. I seem to be getting the opinion that McCain is running as an Independent rather than Republican.

I still think from the brief research I've done that Palin would be the better VP than the current list of choices.

My mistake it is actually 49%.

Here's a WWW Link

Sorry about the Crist name. Force of habit.

49%? Dam, I still ask why we have a deficite. Now more than ever.
