Well, browsing the the www.IMDB.com website brought me to the Coming Soon list and was surprised and happy to see that The Mummy 3 was hitting theaters in August. I try to keep up with what's coming in the next year or so but there is always a movie that gets past me.

It would seem that in this movie the original Egyptian Mummy was given a vacation and replaced with an evil ancient Chinese Emperor that once ruled half the world. Brandon Fraser returns as the treasure seeking, trouble finding hero looking for the latest legend to be discovered. But this time the creators of the Mummy series decided to bring the movie into the 21st century by adding some Martial Art action to this movie. And who better to bring China's great Martial Arts skills and Mystical powers to life than Jet Li as the evil ancient Chinese Emperor that was cursed, together with his army to spend eternity in suspended animation. Rick O'Connell, his brother-in-law Jonathan and his now grown up son Alex O'Connell must now stop this awoken emperor from taking over the world.

The movie looks good from the trailer (see link) and I am always a sucker for martial arts movies. It's something like "The Forbidden Kingdom", another great Jet Li movie that recently was in theaters. It looks action packed and possible a decent sequel to "The Mummy" & "The Mummy Returns". Personally these are part of my list of favorite Sci Fi movies and I look forward to adding this 3rd part to it. But I was disappointed to see Evelyn O'Connell, Ricks wife, was not played by Rachel Weisz, the original Evelyn. I guess you can't always have your cake and eat it too.
