The World Thru My Eyes - I speak my mind and man does it like to talk.

Time and again I ask myself why should candidates want me to vote for them based on how bad the other guy is according to them. Once again Obama and his campaign are out and about doing just the same, except he has "picking the wrong things to say and the wrong time" down to a science.

From his wife's famous "For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country", to his "57 States" comments and his most recent "pig with lipstick" comment, Obama is sure making every effort to make himself look like a fool in front of the world.

Considering Obama and his followers see him as God like (comparing him to Jesus in some ocassions), now Obama believes he can decide what are the requirements to be President. Never mind what the Constitution says. According to Article Two of the United States Constitution, Clause 5:

By the time of their inaguration, the President and Vice President must be:

  • natural born citizens (or citizens at the time of the Constitution's adoption)
  • at least thirty-five years old
  • inhabitants for at least fourteen years of the United States.
According to Obama, aparently a President is also required to be able to send email. Really? From an article on the Politico website, Obama vows new 'speed and ferocity', the Obama campaign is now mocking McCains inability to send emails and use the Internet claiming how can he bring change when he can't even relate to the average American citizen who probably knows how to do both.

Personally, I find this very insulting, something Obama seems to be mastering as well (remember the clinging to their guns and religion comment?). On this very site we have one of our fav JU writers and commentators, MasonM, who recently purchased a PC for his mom. He admitted that his mom was not very computer literate but just enough to email and brownse the Internet somewhat so it shows that this is not something out of the reach of some people. But then we have me, my mom and my mother-in-law. Both who have no clue how to use a computer let alone send an email. And it's not for lack of computers, my mother-in-law has been around my computers and those at work for years and my sister (where my mother lives) has 2 PC's which my mom has seen and participated in video conferencing with us over here from Puerto Rico. Yet dispite all of that, neither knows even how to turn a Pc on.

Did it ever occure to Obama that people who are not computer literate and their family members would somehow be insulted by this ad? Very smooth Obama, once again you attempt to smear "lipstick" on your opponents face has left you smearing a reflection of yourself on a mirror.

This is what Obama considers an important issue, the ability to surf the web and send email. I'm sure he thinks tex messaging is also a very important issue and a requirement for President as this is how he announced his VP pick. Tell that to the train engineer who apparently was texting when his train rashed killing at least 25 people link.

He's trying to appeal to the Facebook and MySpace generations.  Most of which have no idea of his injuries.  Pathethic on Obama's part.

The youth vote - will it come out to play this election?

I agree ID, but that does beg the question - is Obama looking at losing, so he has to find a new source of votes?  The election is his to lose, and so far, he is doing a good job of it.

BTW:  While he is appealing to the MySpace generation, he is losing another generation - My Mother - Senior Citizens - who can identify with McCain on this issue, and are not at all pleased with his mocking tone of THEM.  And McCain does not have to encourage them to vote.  They usually do.

Kinda funny considering part of the myspace crowd can't even vote, and those who can, some (if not most) are not exactly IT Pro's either. So it's not like emailing and Internet browsing is such a skill for him to brag about. I wonder how good he would do playing a game such as Call Of Duty, considering he plans on becoming the Commander in Chief of the greatest army in this world?
