The World Thru My Eyes - I speak my mind and man does it like to talk.

OK, so I am a somewhat PC gamer. I play a lot of Call of Duty and for the past year have been using a Logitech Nano VX mouse and let me say, it's been very good to me while gaming. I love the 2 little buttons that allow me to put nades and knifing at my finger tips rather than on the keyboard forcing me to move my hand from the moving keys. I bought it because it was small and perfect for my laptop. Never considered I'd be gaming with it and felt comfortable in my hand when gaming.

My problem now is that the sliders at the bottom don't slide well anymore and my gaming is sucking. Mouse pads don't help much and can sometimes be very uncomfortable when gaming. I've tried several surfaces but I end up getting annoyed with something underneath my hand that is small. I also believe my mouse seems to be reacting slow lately, my knife doesn't always kick in on time. I've had this baby for a year now and doubt it was designed for such torture.

I don't wanna buy another because this one still works and it wasn't exactly cheap either. I would, however, like a mouse more suited for gaming with maybe more programable buttons, something that slides better and has better button reactions. I would like to avoid mouses that are extremely expensive, $80 or $90 is a bit too much, but I will take any suggestion into consideration.

I was eyeing the Cyborg mouse from Saitek which seems to have some very interesting features such as changing sizes to fit my hand, extra programable buttons and you gotta admit it does look pretty cool and the name makes it seem cooler.

So what do you think? Does this mouse fit my needs? Got a better suggestion? Please help me decide. Thanks.

BTW I would like it to be wireless, while I know wireless allows for some lag, I can't stand having the cable get all tangled up and in my way.

Seems folks are having a ball with the idea of me being an odd ball for using a trackball to be on the ball when gaming.

OK im prolly the odd ball here, but I use a MS trackball explorer.

Nope, I use that at work and on my desktop at home.  I love it.  The G7 I use on my laptop.  That's where the games are...

Cool.. I tried regular mice for gaming. But the constant picking up the mouse to reposition really got old. I currently have a lazer mouse for my laptop when traveling, But for every day use and gaming, I use my Trackball.

I Xth the MX518 ($30 or so).  Combine that with a 'pro' mouse pad ($20 about) and some teflons stickers ($4) and you have an awesome mouse for fine movements and internet gaming.

Proper setting of mouse sensitivity gives you full screen range without moving your arm.   I occasionally pick it up during gaming, but I never even move my arm typically, it's all in the wrist and fingers, from top to bottom of the screen is achieved by arching my hand, from left to right by rotating my wrist, when running dual monitors I get all the way across them still.

I bought this wireless Dynex DX-WLMSE 3 programable button, there is a total of 5 buttons, it has a horizantal/verticla scroll wheel, at bestbuy, I got it because my wired mouse keeps getting stuck in my desk drawer for my keyboard and mouse, also I bought a gelpad for my mouse there two. I had it for a few months now, It is very fast on reaction timing, infact just as fast as any mouse I had ever had, which were expensive ones that cost $60, but I got this for about 30 bucks.

Yeah i have it set like that too, but when pro gaming in FPS you might want a huge mousepad and sensitivity set way low for accuracy when for example sniping thats why you have dpi setting on the fly on real gaming mice but if you mainly play RTS or whatever you probably dont need this feature.. although i have found this feature useful when doing precision gfx's turning it down low

I has a Roccat Kone. I is happy with it. It is awesome.

I use a Logitech MX Revolution with a Nova Killer 2 mouse pad. Great combination. However wireless is lass responsive by several miliseconds...however if you go high frequency RF for the wireless mouse the difference becomes negligable the higher the RF goes.

The Killer 2 is surfaced specifically for laser mice and tracks extremely well. Mouse movement is very smooth and with the SteelSeries mouse pads underneath it glides really well. The only down side is that some of the thumb buttons are a bit hard to reach if you have small hands like mine.

What's gone wrong with the world? You can't even buy a normal inexpensive mouse mat anymore
