Looking for a new mouse for gaming, any suggestions?

OK, so I am a somewhat PC gamer. I play a lot of Call of Duty and for the past year have been using a Logitech Nano VX mouse and let me say, it's been very good to me while gaming. I love the 2 little buttons that allow me to put nades and knifing at my finger tips rather than on the keyboard forcing me to move my hand from the moving keys. I bought it because it was small and perfect for my laptop. Never considered I'd be gaming with it and felt comfortable in my hand when gaming.

My problem now is that the sliders at the bottom don't slide well anymore and my gaming is sucking. Mouse pads don't help much and can sometimes be very uncomfortable when gaming. I've tried several surfaces but I end up getting annoyed with something underneath my hand that is small. I also believe my mouse seems to be reacting slow lately, my knife doesn't always kick in on time. I've had this baby for a year now and doubt it was designed for such torture.

I don't wanna buy another because this one still works and it wasn't exactly cheap either. I would, however, like a mouse more suited for gaming with maybe more programable buttons, something that slides better and has better button reactions. I would like to avoid mouses that are extremely expensive, $80 or $90 is a bit too much, but I will take any suggestion into consideration.

I was eyeing the Cyborg mouse from Saitek which seems to have some very interesting features such as changing sizes to fit my hand, extra programable buttons and you gotta admit it does look pretty cool and the name makes it seem cooler.

So what do you think? Does this mouse fit my needs? Got a better suggestion? Please help me decide. Thanks.

BTW I would like it to be wireless, while I know wireless allows for some lag, I can't stand having the cable get all tangled up and in my way.

My suggestion might be slightly on the pricier side of things, but with sales, you can get the Gyration Go for $60.00 or less.

I use them for gaming and have several profiles that I use for the programmable buttons, depending on what I'm trying to do.

Sometimes, it's just a keystroke combination and sometimes a set of scripts that I might run. The profiles can be changed on the fly so if your game changes, you can have a profile waiting to take advantage. During those routine and boring parts of the game, you can walk away from your desk and continue to play in the air with the gyro option.

I normally use the mouse on the desk with a cloth mousepad. My favorite part are the buttons. They're very soft to click and don't cause the knuckle pain that overuse of a regular mouse can do when gaming for hours on end. The angle is nice on the wrist as well.

Not wireless, but...

I have the Logitech G9, it's an awesome mouse. You can't really go wrong with it.

If I were to buy a new mouse today though, I'd go for the Roccat Kone... It looks absolutely fantastic, and it has left a long line of great reviews. Just look at these pics, and then go > HERE <. (I would REALLY miss the hyperwheel though....)

(Yes.... The colored LEDs ARE user customizable like that... And it has a number of truly brilliant technical features too.)

Oh... One thing that speaks for the G9 is > THIS <.

Customized grips available... How cool is that? Skinning the mouse!

They should bundle a custom grip with master skins

Plus, the case the Kone comes in is awesome It has that whole mystic-polar-energy-container-thingy air about it, even though it's just polystyrene painted black.

The LCDs are quite awesome. Except the Roccat one, it's a bit too strong and distracting when watching movies at night, so I turned that one off.

If you need the front end VERY light like me. I have went through many mice but always come back to this one - in fact im going to buy a new one soon.

If you play fps games this wont be beaten - unless you play me then you will be beaten...

I made a reference to this mouse in post #8. It is the mouse that I currently use and I absolutely love it. I won't be changing soon...that's for sure.
