Looking to expand my blogging, could use some advise.

Am wondering if anyone here on Joeuser.com has a blog somewhere else. While I like joeuser.com I am really looking to expand my reach to the masses but am having difficulty understanding certain things.

I have been looking for a good blog site to share my articles but there are so many options I am having difficulty choosing. My main problem is somethings joeuser has that I can't find on some of these blogs. When ever I post a blog on JU, it shows on the main page and if I am lucky I get featured. I created an account on wordpress.com but I can't seem o figure out how to find blogs to read or how to get mine to show up. I can't tell if anyone else can see it. Wordpress.com seems to have some great features but I just can't seem to figure out how to get the "word" out.

I was also looking into doing more than just posting articles. I planned on making an audio blog when I would post my articles as a podcast so that my you can hear my voice and get a better sense of my feeling of the topic. I have all kinds of accounts to help creating this blog such as podbean.com for the audio podcast, imageshack.com and flickr.com for uploading images, youtube.com for videos and facebook, twitter, digg and reddit to spread the word. But in the end my main problem still remains. I am not sure what blog site to use.

I currently have (besides JU)an account for wordpress.com, livejournal.com, and blogger.com. I have even considered creating my own blog site that I can host myself probably using wordpress.org. But I would prefer something close to JU. Livejournal.com seems close but not sure. Need to spend more time on it.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

One of the things that makes Joe User a better blog site than most out there is that it is more like a forum that you can blog in. Sites like Blooger, Wordpress and Live Journal don't push everyones traffic. You have to find a way to generate traffic on your own.

You will still have search engine placement and so on but you will never find a site like JU. It just doesn't exist. JU used to be a great place to blog when you could check by the minute to see new items posted and by the second to see new forum comments. It's just not the same as it once was. I hope this community blog finds its way back to that time and place again.

As far as outside blogging goes, Wordpress has some pretty cool features and tons of add-ins. You can be as generic or specific with site design as you want but you have tons of options.

In the end I chose hostin my own sites and running Joomla on the back end. Right out of the box it had more fatures and I liked the backend administration better.

That's exactly why I like JU. But most of the good people have left and those left some don't comment at all or hardly. There very few of us here and articles go with just a few comments and barely any debate. Maybe I should focus on bring the traffic here. I also have issues with live writer. Can't get it to work with JU now. I used it before but now it says I dont have an active blog. Strange. Havent been able to get any help on this yet.

I have also tried blogger.com and livejournal and wordpress.com and found the features availble at this particular site i.e. JoeUser.com unique.

I have been blogging at this site for 6 years now and am very happy with it. Though I do feel that with the beta version now in place it is as good if not better than Blogspot.com
