Respect and Acceptance on JU

It would seem that Respect is not so much something that is earned on JU, but more like a reward for being invited to join a club or something. Some who come on this site are never really given a chance to become part of this community, they are labeled as “annoying” or something and regardless of what they do to change (if they do anyways), it’s too late. Then there are those who, from minute 1, reek havoc on this site to the point of driving everyone nuts and eventually getting kicked or banned. They lose their respect and are never given a chance to earn it back by the community even if they could somehow prove they have changed and are sorry for what they did before.

My view is that JU has, in a sense, been hijacked by a few elite members who feel their word should reign supreme and that even admins should see things from their perspectives or be subjected to their rants. I say elite because these are people who been around here for quite a while, some from the beginning. Because they have been here for sometime now, they feel they have some kind of power on this site. The very thing that gets defended on this site, freedom of speech, at times gets thrown out of the window because of personal feelings of entitlement on this site for the years of being a member and the time they have put onto this site provided interesting and sometimes not so interesting articles and replies.

Since the beginning I have been branded annoying and stupid, to the point I am being groups with some recent problematic members and some past members coming back under new names. I could care less what anyone thinks of me, I could care less if I earn anyone's respect or not, I did come to this site looking for a new crowd to be part of, but I'm not desperate for friends. Those who enjoy my company, comments and personality I will always have respect and appreciation. Those who wanna gang up on me and begin childish arguments ranging from insults, to name calling, to witty replies can bite by behind (not the smartest thing to say, but good enough for me).

There's no such thing as respect on JU from certain members. But that doesn't matter. So long as they are not the admins or owners of this site, they are just another sad JUer. Thank God at least the admins have some sense to not give in to their demands.

Feel free to comments as you wish. I don't blacklist people just for fun or delete comments that offend me. Speak your mind.

I am a curious person by nature, so please, those of you who have issues with me, do tell why I somehow make your days irritating when I'm around. I'm all ears.

Charles,

Why does this article scream, "wah no one likes me nor really pays attention to me" but in this case it's about respect and acceptance (arguably similar).

I do recall mentioning to you that your attempt at being annoying is going to back fire and it definitely seems to be that way.

I for one preferred reading your material when you wrote about your experiences and other articles that you would write. Since, you have been on the offense against LW, I am finding you tiresome and YOU sounding like the child. I would suggest that you go back to writing they way you did before. Over time people will read your articles.

For the time being, I'm not sure I understand your fictitious heroic attempt to attack LW. If I'm not mistaken your offensive began on KFC's post. You talk about respect and acceptance but yet you seemed to offer so little of what you preach against LW. You treat people like a child and have cried foul play when they give you a proverbial spanking.

Take your own advice and move on. You are only going to lose more of your readers as you continue this fictitious crusade.

Well John, I guess I'm easy then. Kinda pointless to argue since anything I say will be used against me. But that's OK. You see, these kinds of thing only matter to 2 type of people on this site, you guys who believe you are somehow getting under my skin and the outsiders who don't comment but get a kick out of it anyways. BTW, thank you for proving my point about coming to LW's defense since she is simply sitting back watching you guys take blank shots at me. Feel free to continue your bashing, I'm sure you're looking for me to start BL you all to prove a point but it wont happen.

Thank you for your words LW. You are correct. I am alienating potential friends. But then most have already made up their minds, as you have, about me so the potential is lost. I like making friends, I like getting to know people and them getting to know me. But I got tired of sweating those who's first impression of me is that of dislike. Some are way too judgmental and make up their minds right off the bat and stick to that conclusion. But as I said, I could not care less (than you BlueDev for the correction) anymore. I'm not here to seek out new friends. If I make em, great, if I don't, so be it. Those who choose to read my articles and comments are welcome to reply what they think and if a friendly connection arises then I'll see it as a good thing, but otherwise I am not gonna suffer for it.

This constant barrage of insults and corny replies is nothing but mere entertainment to me. A way to vent other frustrations one deals with on a daily basis.

I know you are very popular, that I noticed since the beginning. I'm not and that is not unusual for me. I've been a loner most of my life due to me being not like everyone else. I don't drink alcohol so that kinda negates the idea of hanging out with the fellas (trust me I have already tried before), I have respect for women (even you, though I have been harsh before) and don't relate too well to guys who speak of women in a demeaning manner. BTW, this is not a pity me comment, it's the reality of my life that I am accustomed to. It doesn't bother me to be this way because I believe it makes me a better person. But this is all merely babble since you will either way find something to crack on, kinda like how you did on my "get to know" article. That's OK, I actually expected worse from you. I do have to admit you are good at making up interesting ideas of what you really think is going on. Talk about a vivid imagination. But, as I said before, sorry to say you are hitting the wrong nail. I'm not a Gov't dependent person. I work for my money and so does my wife. I believe that welfare is a last resort thing meant to be temporary till you get back on your feet, in my case as fast as possible.

Example, we all know how I feel about KFC. It's not pretty. Tova is one of her closest allies on these forums. I like Tova. A LOT. If I were constantly slamming Tova for being friends with KFC, how long do you think that friendship (between tova and myself) would last?

Charles, I went back and took a look at the KFC article "Open Letter to Gid" and it seems to me that you made the first personal jab at LW. This is where I see your little fictitious campaign against LW (see comments around 128).

LW, didn't 'refuse' anything. Charles it is YOU that has brought her up on occasion in feeble attempts to champion yourself as some shinning knight against the big bad LW. There are several articles that support this.

I neither said LW is cool nor did I say she gets my respect. LW, has EARNED my respect for her. You seem to not get the hint. I warned you on KFC's article that your little crusade will destroy the attention you seem to be seeking out.

I gave you advice and you accuse me of defending LW. This not only tells me that you didn't heed my advice but that you are so deranged in your crusade that anyone who stands in your way is defending her. If you aren't willing to look at yourself with this mirror it is YOU that is 'so sad, so sad.'

But again, you only see what you want. Of course I started it all, I seem to always do, even when LW was the one who started saying untruths.

I'm sorry adventure-dude, but explain to me why exactly should I have taken any kind of advice from you? I don't even know you besides a few comments I have read from you. Not to mention that you "advice" came with insulting criticism, how can you expect anyone to take advice while being insulted at the same time? You are looking only at what you wanna see and ignoring the rest. This is not about trying to see pity for me or something but realizing that during that confrontation with LW she began being very insulting and I simply responded back in the same manner yet all you could see was what I posted. My issue here is the double standard I see some on this site take, let some get away with the same things you accuse others of doing wrong. But again, I wanna get past all of this.

I think my issue is more with some of the member of this site who like accusing and pointing fingers in one direction while purposely ignoring the other for the same reasons and not so much LW herself. I've always said I liked LW's style even when she was hard on me, after a few years I got use to her personality but wasn't always gonna sit there and take it from her. But when others began to gang up on me accusing me of doing her wrong all the while she did the same to me and no one ever pointed that out, I found that an annoying double standard. Something strongly disliked by many on this site which was very ironic to me.
