3 observations. 

1. Now that they have made their feelings known in America, they should go to Mexico and demonstrate for America.  They say they are Mexican Americans - which I assume they mean they are citizens of both.  So if they were honest, they would go there and demonstrate for America.  Let's see how successful they are then.

2. You do not have to love your country.  But then there are other countries.  You do not like it?  Move.

3. The girl shouting she should be able to celebrate "their" national holidays.  Stupid is as stupid does.  1, it is not a national holiday anywhere, and 2 no one stopped her from celebrating.

This all relates back to my Ignorant vs stupidity article. In this case, stupidity with a hint of idiocy is the catalyst for all this BS about Cinco De Mayo. As of now, Cinco De Mayo will no longer hold any meaning to me, even if I work for a Mexican owned company.

If you do work for or meet any Mexicans, tell them you would love to celebrate with them the El Grito de la Independencia.  That has a lot more meaning for real Mexicans.  And it is celebrated on September 16.

I'm happy just eating Mexican food. I like it. And I don't necessarily mean Taco Bell.

You must have been reading BFD as one of his favorite topics is REAL Mexican food!  They know how to use spices correctly!

I enjoy Mexican food from time to time. I have a liking for guacamole, refried beans and Mexican rice. We eating tacos and burritos tonight, not authentic but good enough for now.

You should taste my wife's Rice!  I have never found any that is near as good as hers.  I ask her for it all the time as it is great alone or with any other dish.

Those "protesters" should all be deported to mexico.

If they not illegals that would be wrong. An American is an American even if they are too stupid or ignorant to realize that. I do think their parents should be sent if they are just to teach them a lesson of respect.

Remember the show - Scared Straight?

Perhaps we need a sequel - send them to live in Mexico for a year, and then see if they feel the same about this country.  We could call it Scared Smart.

Oh, and their stay there?  Would be as illegal aliens.  It is their job to make sure they do not get caught, and if they do, they are on their own.

Their actions should forfeit their american citizenship.

Respect is earned not "demanded". Again we see folks that want something given with little or no effort on their own part. How about being good Americans first, and earn your respect.

I could never understand why people come here and promote the country from which they came. If it was so great why did you leave? And if it was so terrible, why do you want to transform where you are now into the place you left.  Now, I'm sure many of these kids were born here, never lived anywhere else, and believe somehow that they are supporting their ancestors or heritage through their protests. If they are not careful they will have exactly what their ancestors left, for whatever the reason. Many groups play on the naivety of the young to force their agenda, that's ashame.

I assure you, their brand of stupidity is not limited to the young. And it isn't naivety, it is plain good old stupidity.
