As much as I like being around Joeuser.com debating about the many topics from politics to current events to the latest in computers, I feel I will have to give up replying and/or posting articles. For as far back as I can remember I have always had trouble trying to get people to understand anything I was talking about. You would almost think I was talking a different language. I have had my theories as to why; maybe they just didn’t see the issue any other way (2+2=4), maybe they just didn’...

Well I know some will point out that it has not been a week since I was gone as I said. I was really speaking of the week days. Especially this week when I was training for my new job. It was an interesting, no wait, a great week. I will admit my vacation away from JU was not 100% away. I did come around from time to time and looked at some of the articles and responses. But it was kinda nice to let my mine clear a bit from all the constant debating and arguing around here. Although my off...

I use to love working and eating at my uncles restaurant in Puerto Rico. Nothing like eating home made meals and snacks. Their sandwiches were the best in town and to be honest I have yet to find a place here in the US that can equal them. My mom was the cook, she is the best. Her cooking is not the kind where you have been eating it since you were born so it tastes good but terrible to others; trust me I have tried those before. Her cooking is that of everyone liking it. She’s got this magic...

A dream come true, not what I expected, but good none the less. Yesterday my wife called me at work to tell me my son wanted to join a sports league. I had told my son that if he saw any sports he wanted to join in school to bring me the paper so that we can find a way to pay for it. Last year he brought papers from several sports but we could not afford to pay for him to join. They wanted the money the next day. I never played sports when I was young, doctors never gave my mom permission and as...

(title changed)It’s kinda funny the things you find reading the many articles on JU. During my vacation away from posting on JU (since I was still looking around) I came across a comment made by Gideon in an article titled “Why do I hate telephones?”. An interesting article I might add, I do have similar feelings when it comes to telephones, its even worse when it comes to cell phones. Maybe I’ll write an article about it, similar to that of the writer of the article above. Anyways, the c...

This past week I saw an email from one of the big dogs in my company that sounded interesting. While seeing emails from him is not unusual, especially during this merger/takeover that’s going on where I work, this one in particular caught my intention, enough to write an article about it. See, there’s this apartment complex here in West Palm Beach, FL, called Dunbar Village, a low income housing project like many others. According to some people I have asked the place is very poor and so ...

I've decided to take some advice and do my part on JU. I'm making a call to all you JU citizens to do you part and bring on the writing skills and drop an interesting article from time to time to spring things up a bit. We're short on interesting writers but that doesn't mean the rest of us are dull. Lets show them that anyone on JU can be interesting, passionate and worth listening. I also call on the occasional pain in the butt poster, JU could be dull without the occasional uneducated rant an...

My only real problem is that I always have 2 sign in on the main page with IE and Firefox and then I have to sign in again when I click on the forums link or if I head to the forums directly. Every once in a while when I click an article I have to sign in to be able to post. I guess for some reason I just can't stay logged on the new site half the time. Could it be me or is it JU? I have tried cleaning out cookies, temp internet files and even reinstalling Firefox, nothing works.Any help would b...

A friend of my wife had bought some hamsters and eventually found herself in a position where should could not care for them anymore. My wife and I thought we could take them in as the first pets for the kids. It's been a few months now and we went from 2 to 7 and soon will be more. It turns out it's not as easy to taake care of them as we thought. We don't have the time to be taking care of such small creatures. We have already tried to give them away but i guess everyone else knew someth...

I was listening to the radio on my way to work, where they are playing non stop Christmas music all the way till Christmas day, and one of the DJ's asked an interesting question to the audience. Do you think Gift Cards are really gifts? According to the DJ a lady (who's name I can't remember) claims that Gift Cards are an excuse to give something because you didn't trust in your own judgment for not knowing the person well enough to know what to get them. Ouch, talk about a smack of truth in ...

Well I have finally achieved that which I thought was beyond my reach. For some time I have been working hard to fix my credit that I ruined when I was a teen. While I still have a long road ahead, I am finally showing the fruits of my labor. A few months ago I was approved for a small loan that helped me repair my wife's '94 Ford Explorer which had landed in the shop for some major repairs, repairs I could not afford. The approval of this loan gave me my first step in restoring my long lasti...

It's amazing the things one finds out about our school system every year. I often wonder why we are even bothering fighter for our freedom anymore. What freedom are we fighting for? This country is not what it used to be anymore. We do not have a culture, we do not have a race, we are not a real country. All we are is a piece of land full of people from all parts of the world and our ruler is called money.   Today I just found out that my son will not celebrate Halloween in school. OK, I'm...

This would have to be considered a strange article coming from me since I am not much of a reader. But thanks to a great wincustomize.com article by Zoomba (see link below) I found something that those of you who love books will enjoy if you have not heard of it yet. The website is called Goodreads.com. On this site you can keep track of what you have writen, what you plan on reading and even share with others what you have read. Bets of all you can checkl out what others are reading, includi...
