No, this is not a "I'm gonna take a break from JU for a while " article. I am talking about taking a break from politics. A few years ago, when I was experimenting with downloading from torrents (I know, not the most proud thing I have done) and stuff I came across a torrent site with a very active forum. The idea of expressing my opinions and sharing with others intrigued me. I ended up spending more time on the site for posting reasons than searching for torrents. I soon learned what abusing a...

In these hard times one can not afford to fall into depression, lose their minds and take out our frustrations on others. But it's not easy maintaining that fake smile one carries while around those we know and love. It's a shame one has to rely on the past more often than not to maintain some form of sanity. Happiness seems more like a luxury than a necessity these days. I'm one who has some unsual habits that help keep me from losing my mind sometimes. Every year, during the summer, I have ...

So my 10 year old son went on a school trip today to Tampa. He will be visiting the Kennedy Space Center, watching a movie in 3D, eating at a nice buffet restarurant and then going to Busch Gardens, all on a 3 day trip. The original trip was for Washington, but this was cancelled due to there not being enough kids and they did not raise enough money for the trip (the economy had a lot to do with this). So, the school decided to take the kids to a local trip instead. After all, theyw roked really...

I know that if I could have those days back that i would have to sacrifice a lot of the things I like today, but I can't help but wonder how nice it would be, how peaceful it was and less stressful it felt back when computers where only owned by the most richest of people or even further back to when my parnets were my childrens age and TV's were not in every home. I just recently watched the movie Shirley Temple - Curly Top and it's interesting how movies back in those days have so little ba...

Amazing. This is what one gets for being honest these days. Still today, Miss California is paying the price for her honesty when many in Hollywood felt the need to express their opinions online as well following Mr Sensitive Hilton. But, don't think Miss Cali is alone, sitting there taking this beating like a man, well like a woman, you know what I mean. Grandma to the rescue. Good Ol Miss Cali Granny decided to take a shot back at Loud Mouth Hilton by giving him a dose of his own medicine: ...

I've heard this phrase before but never bothered to find out what it meant. Today I heard it again while listening to Bill O'Reily's audio book "A Bold Fresh Piece Of Humanity" (not much of a reader so audio books are coming in handy for these days). Does anyone know what the following phrase means? "Your mother wears combat boots!" Thanks in advance.

I am a big fan of the movie Kung Fu Panda. I love watching it with my kids. My favorite character is Master Oogway the turtle. His pharses sound very enlighted and usually make sense to me. But there is one that I had a hard time trying to figure and now I believe I may understand the meaning but was wondering what you readers think he means by this. This is the scene of the movie: Master Shifu - "Master, master. I have..., it's a... it's very bad news" Master Oogway - "Ah Shifu. There is ...

I have some very unusual habits when it comes to me falling a sleep. It's kinda like a routine; the only way I can fall asleep without doing this routine is that I have gone without sleep for far too long and I have no choice but to fall asleep at that point. I use a combination of things to help me fall asleep every night, missing any of them when going to sleep will not affect me much for the others together can still put me to sleep but they work better when I use them all at the same time. Y...

Be honest with yourself here, you know you can be ignorant to things from time to time but still act as if you know what you're talking about. I know I do it quite often. How often do you go thru life never knowing the true meaning of a word yet using it constantly as if you did? Every once in a while I notice this in myself. Why I don't catch on at first is beyond me, I guess my mind wants to believe it knows and then eventually realizes it's not sure anymore. I'll give you an example of one...

I'm not gonna be criticizing anyones blog here on JU. Everyone has the right to write about anything they want and who am I to criticize their articles? But I can't help but notice that for the past year I have seem some, how can I describe them, unusual articles that I can't help but wonder the purpose in which they were created. When I first started blogging here, the one thing that caught my attention and made me a loyal blogger was the crazy articles people posted here. Everything from po...

So I was checking out an article on PCWorld.com on Fun With Google Suggest where Google.com has a feature that tries to guess what you will search and gives you suggestions to make it easier and faster to find what you are looking for. PCWorld discovered that not only does it provide some good suggestions that might likely be what you are searching for or close, but it also gives other suggestions you may not have considered and some that, as described by the article, can "sometimes be funny, ...

A while back I wrote (or read, can't remember right now) an article about what would you do if you won the lottery. The answers can be many for everyone has different desires and with that amount of money, these desires can change very quickly. Instead, I am more curious about your idea of vacation. Having this kind of money all of a sudden and dreaming of places you wish you could go to for vacation, where would you go for a vacation? I thought I ask because our office has a lottery pool ...

I have a co-worker who is a very nice lady who calls often the customer hotline needing help with invoices and stuff. She likes getting me on the phone because I can be very efficient and quick. She's a very nice lady. Well today she sent me an email with some information that I would like to share with you. I think it's a great idea and plan of trying it out myself. OK - I know some of you are having financial difficulties or you know someone who is. I want to tell you about a ministry ...

Just about 3 years ago I found myself lucky enough to work, as a temp, for the company I now work as a full-time employee today. At the time, my job was meant to be temporary and I was expected to be let go once they didn't need me anymore. Lucky for me the changes they were planning that would have ended my chance to work for the company were put on the back burner allowing time to earn my spot and convince management to hire me full time. It was the happiest day of my life to have the opportun...

Call me ignorant, but I can only educate myself by asking questions of which I have no answers to. Can someone please explain to me, in the most easiest way possible to explain, why is it that I can do my taxes on, say, turbotax.com or H&RBlock.com and not pay a penny for my refund, yet every local tax return business (H&R Block, Liberty Tax, Jackson Hewitt) wants to charge an average of $250 to file your tax return? Why such a discrepancy? How are they in business? Why do people go t...
