People have a funny way of changing their minds when they get what they want only to find out that is not what they wanted. Take our current system of Gov’t, Democracy. Democracy: majority rule: the doctrine that the numerical majority of an organized group can make decisions binding on the whole group Supposedly the way it’s suppose to work is “majority” gets to make the rules, kinda like everything else. If there are 5 people, you go to a vote. Strangely eno...
I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to make an image for me that i need for a blog. I would like it to have a nice aerial view of the US with the American Flag and the words Proud American in it somewhere nice. The image needs to be 736 X 229 pixels. Would someone here be willing to do this for me? Does not need to be perfect, just nice. I have no image skills and I won’t be able to pay for it so your generosity would be greatly appreciated. You can even put your name in ...
Patrick Swayze has passed away. Good bye Patrick, you gave us some good dance moves and some pretty good movies. May you rest in peace and keep dancing in the heavens. Link
When is it proper to hold people accountable for their “mistakes” when opening their mouths and spewing ignorant and unprofessional comments about other people? My opinion? The moment they open their mouths and spewing ignorant and unprofessional comments about other people. Is an apology acceptable every time something like this happens? The culprit this time? One of Obama’s members of the CZARS family, Van Jones. The only reason I care about the comments of an idiot like this is because h...
I have a simply request for everyone who reads this regardless of party affiliation, race, gender, culture or religious belief. This current Administration has taken it upon itself the task of fixing every problem this country has. Now as much as we all would love to make the wrongs right in a snap, it would be logical to agree that this current Administration is very misguided in its belief that the problems this country faces (current and past ones) are problems that can be fixed overnight, wh...
OK, MJ was a great artist, the man could sing, the man could dance, the man could rock any stage he got on and any music video he made. The man was able to do what very few 80's or 70's artist were able to accomplish; continue to be a sensation, a must see, a big ticket decade after decade. But I think our love for this artist populatiry is being atken too far and by who other than Al Sharpton. I mean come on, does every Black person that accomplishes something good need to have postage stamp...
I'm not sure what the problem is. I started hanging around JU about 5 years ago and found it interesting to write articles about things I believed in and was willing to debate with others about. As time went by it got harder to write something and even harder to finish something I had started to write. I recently started using this program called Zoundry Raven to post articles on JU. It's hasn't been perfect, causing problems when I view the article online from the main page, but it's a prett...
No, this is not a "I'm gonna take a break from JU for a while " article. I am talking about taking a break from politics. A few years ago, when I was experimenting with downloading from torrents (I know, not the most proud thing I have done) and stuff I came across a torrent site with a very active forum. The idea of expressing my opinions and sharing with others intrigued me. I ended up spending more time on the site for posting reasons than searching for torrents. I soon learned what abusing a...
In these hard times one can not afford to fall into depression, lose their minds and take out our frustrations on others. But it's not easy maintaining that fake smile one carries while around those we know and love. It's a shame one has to rely on the past more often than not to maintain some form of sanity. Happiness seems more like a luxury than a necessity these days. I'm one who has some unsual habits that help keep me from losing my mind sometimes. Every year, during the summer, I have ...
So my 10 year old son went on a school trip today to Tampa. He will be visiting the Kennedy Space Center, watching a movie in 3D, eating at a nice buffet restarurant and then going to Busch Gardens, all on a 3 day trip. The original trip was for Washington, but this was cancelled due to there not being enough kids and they did not raise enough money for the trip (the economy had a lot to do with this). So, the school decided to take the kids to a local trip instead. After all, theyw roked really...
I know that if I could have those days back that i would have to sacrifice a lot of the things I like today, but I can't help but wonder how nice it would be, how peaceful it was and less stressful it felt back when computers where only owned by the most richest of people or even further back to when my parnets were my childrens age and TV's were not in every home. I just recently watched the movie Shirley Temple - Curly Top and it's interesting how movies back in those days have so little ba...
Amazing. This is what one gets for being honest these days. Still today, Miss California is paying the price for her honesty when many in Hollywood felt the need to express their opinions online as well following Mr Sensitive Hilton. But, don't think Miss Cali is alone, sitting there taking this beating like a man, well like a woman, you know what I mean. Grandma to the rescue. Good Ol Miss Cali Granny decided to take a shot back at Loud Mouth Hilton by giving him a dose of his own medicine: ...
I've heard this phrase before but never bothered to find out what it meant. Today I heard it again while listening to Bill O'Reily's audio book "A Bold Fresh Piece Of Humanity" (not much of a reader so audio books are coming in handy for these days). Does anyone know what the following phrase means? "Your mother wears combat boots!" Thanks in advance.
I am a big fan of the movie Kung Fu Panda. I love watching it with my kids. My favorite character is Master Oogway the turtle. His pharses sound very enlighted and usually make sense to me. But there is one that I had a hard time trying to figure and now I believe I may understand the meaning but was wondering what you readers think he means by this. This is the scene of the movie: Master Shifu - "Master, master. I have..., it's a... it's very bad news" Master Oogway - "Ah Shifu. There is ...
I have some very unusual habits when it comes to me falling a sleep. It's kinda like a routine; the only way I can fall asleep without doing this routine is that I have gone without sleep for far too long and I have no choice but to fall asleep at that point. I use a combination of things to help me fall asleep every night, missing any of them when going to sleep will not affect me much for the others together can still put me to sleep but they work better when I use them all at the same time. Y...
