I notice that the phrase “less safe” is often, either used or implied, on this site, mostly by people pointing towards how the US is less safe than before we went to war. And this is not necessarily from one person on this site (resident troll as he has been called). The thing is every time I see it written or implied I often ask myself what exactly do they mean by this? How exactly are we less safe than before after we are aware of a threat? Either way are we ever any safer than before wh...

Being part of the lower or poor class, I know what it’s like to struggle paying bills and not being able to enjoy the many wants life has to offer. I have never denied the ignorance of my bad money management ways, but I at least too the first step in admitting it and am working on fixing it, thanks to a few great JU people with some great advice and websites. Still, I come across people who I just have to question their choices when it comes to buying that which they can afford, in this c...

Thanks to Jythier and Tova7 for pointing me towards Dave Ramsey and his website. I joined the monthly newsletter and decided to try out the 30 day gift MyTMMO (My Total Money Makeover) plan for free. I look forward to fixing my credit and if all goes well, together with Little-Whip’s Identity Monitor from Citi (thanks LW as well) services I should be on my way to improving my credit and making better decisions from now on. For all those who find themselves in a hole with debt and mismanage...

In a story that’s been going on for years now, a woman called Elvira Arellano, an illegal immigrant from Mexico made her way to the US many years ago like so many others. She was already deported once but managed to make her way back to the US; but this time she managed to get a job cleaning airplanes at the Chicago Airport with a fake Social Security number. At the same time Elvira gave birth to her son Saul here in the US making him an American citizen. The FBI tried to take Elvira in fo...

I am always curious about those people who read statistics about how people’s dept are at an all time high and stuff but never really bother to learn from personal experience and/or talk to those the statistics speak of. Well get ready cause I’m gonna give it to you the way it is, for me anyways. Chances are this is a very common scenario amongst people in similar situations as mine. My credit began to spiral downward the day I got my first credit cards when I was 18 years old. One was a J...

To all those who think Bush and/or Cheney should be impeached. Prove it to me. I want proof that there is a legit reason for an impeachment. I want proof of a crime that was commited that is punishable by impeachment. If you can't then please lay off the impeachment line I see so often thrown around. It's bad enough our country is losing it's mind, we don't need to be changing laws just because we don't like someone. So I dare, I dare anyone to provide proof to impeach Bush and Cheney. If ...

Sad to say that a great hero of this country has passed away after battling the forces of cancer. I speak of Jack the Black Labrador who helped find survivors of the Twin Towers collapsed on 9/11 and Katrina Victims in New Orleans. The poor dog was put to sleep on Wednesday when the owner could no longer handle the suffering of the dog. My heart goes out to the owner, God bless this great animal who risked his life to save those not of his own race. We, as humans, should take this dog as an e...

It seems that the Democrats are siding with the average American when it comes to what to do with Osama Bin Laden and Al-qaeda. The will of the people is to take action and get rid of Osama and Al-qaeda where ever they are. Democrats such as Barak Obama and Hilary Clinton have been catering to the crowd by making statements such as “If you have a target like Osama you take him out” said by Obama or “OK we gotta go get Al-qaeda” said by Hilary. Great, I’m glad they want what I want, even bette...

If you read the subtitle I’m sure you’re wondering why I would place a movie review in the politics category. That’s simple; once I tell you the title it should all become clear. Though I can say with assurance that the only reason I am writing this review is because it was so bad I just had to point it out. Beware of movie spoiler beyond this point. Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World That is the title of the movie. A “ brilliantly incisive and flat-out hilarious ” movie accord...

Well, just when you thought Sarah Palin had been beaten, burnt, tazed, thrown off a cliff and basically strapped to a bomb and blown to bits (this is how I see the treatment of Sarah Palin by the Democrats and the Media) to the point it that doesn't seem like they can do anymore to completely destroy this womans life, the Democrats find a way to inflict even more damage to her. Tomorrow is the most anticipated Vice Presidential Debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden. But we may as well rena...

I see a lot of people on here who are either on board with the bailout or against it. I also notice many have made it their business to inform themselves about the current situation and the bill currently being created and apparently rejected. I appreciate people who at least inform themselves. Now my question is this, in easy plain terms (think of very young people possibly reading this) if the bill is not passed for what ever reason and we decide to just ride out the fall, what do you belie...

So, one short simple article with just one simply (while not really simple) question: Should we bail out the banks and save their asses in the hopes they learned their lesson or should we simply let them fail by their own mistakes and hope we can survive this possible financial/nuclear explosion and therefor not putting the burden on the American tax payer or is that last part gonna happen anyways? I hear many conflicting reports and since I am not very educated in the economy, I am confus...

Yes folks, it seems that being President of the US is not enough for a man named Barack Obama. The world may also be able to enjoy the leadership of a Mayor Barak Obama from the city of Belford Roxo, Brazil. According to guardian.co.uk (I also saw this on tv, possibly Foxnews), Brazil has this "quirk" in their laws where " candidates are allowed to run under the name of their choice ". Can you imagine a law like that here? Because Brazil has " one of the largest Afro-descendant populations ...

Time and again I ask myself why should candidates want me to vote for them based on how bad the other guy is according to them. Once again Obama and his campaign are out and about doing just the same, except he has "picking the wrong things to say and the wrong time" down to a science. From his wife's famous " For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country", to his "57 States" comments and his most recent "pig with lipstick" comment, Obama is sure making every effort to ...
