PCWorld.com has an article Browser Showdown where they compare how the new IE8 matches up to FireFox 3 in speed opening up some of the most common websites such as amazon.com, myspace.com and yahoo.com. It seems that in most cases IE8 beats the current FireFox but the difference is only by a second in most cases which unless you are some kind of paranoid time keeper, you probably wouldn't even notice it at all. But, as much as I wanna believe any website is unbias in their experiments or te...

If you want a good laugh, I recommend checking out PCWorld.com's article The World's Weirdest Keyboards . You'll either think "this is just what I was looking for" or you will be laughing so much you won't be able to say anything. Goes to show what happens when people have too much time on their hands, some money sitting around and a copy of the movie Robots which drilled into their heads the idea of "See a need, fill a need".

Like a radio, Obama, again, changes his tune on one of todays current events. "Things two years ago were not as good as we thought because there were a lot of underlying weaknesses in the economy. They're not as bad as we think they are now." These were Obama's words about the economy today, you know, the one he repeatedly said was in crisis and that if we did not pass the stimulus bill we would never recover. "Of course the fundamentals are sound" From one of Obama's economic ad...

Just about 3 years ago I found myself lucky enough to work, as a temp, for the company I now work as a full-time employee today. At the time, my job was meant to be temporary and I was expected to be let go once they didn't need me anymore. Lucky for me the changes they were planning that would have ended my chance to work for the company were put on the back burner allowing time to earn my spot and convince management to hire me full time. It was the happiest day of my life to have the opportun...

Call me ignorant, but I can only educate myself by asking questions of which I have no answers to. Can someone please explain to me, in the most easiest way possible to explain, why is it that I can do my taxes on, say, turbotax.com or H&RBlock.com and not pay a penny for my refund, yet every local tax return business (H&R Block, Liberty Tax, Jackson Hewitt) wants to charge an average of $250 to file your tax return? Why such a discrepancy? How are they in business? Why do people go t...

It seems that for a guy who ran under the illusuion of "change" for this country, Obama seems to be more like Bush than most people care to see, believe, admit or accept. Rmember a while back, when Bush was still President, when the economy was doing OK but heading in a downward spiral at the time? Bush kept saying "the economy is strong, blah, blah, blah", then he eventually had to admit "things are not doing too good" (these are not his exact words, simply an idea of his comments). Not so long...

Did you ever try writing poems as a child? Maybe for that boy or girl you liked? I remember writing poems. I used a particular style I had seen someone else do that I thought was really cool at the time (and still do to this date). It involved using the persons name using each letter in their name to make the first word on each line of the poem. For example (the name chosen is random and not necessarily from someone in my past, just in case): Sandra S weet as honey A lways so true ...

Did I just rhyme that title? Wow. Anyways, as some of you may already know (and those who don't) Call of Duty WAW has a built in zombie mode that can only be accessed 1 of 2 ways; either by completing the single player on Veterans difficulty or to enter a code thru the console. You can also enjoy zombie mode if a friend has already unlocked it and invites you to try the co-oped mode of the game. Before Call of Duty WAW, I had played the zombie mode created for Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare wh...

That's according to... wait for it... an MSNBC poll. Give President Obama a grade poll ask people to give Obama a grade for his performance as President so far. Considering MSNBC is so far left they make the not so far left look right, it's interesting to see a poll that pretty much goes against most of the articles they post. Based on what I saw when I voted, Obama is getting a big F (60%) on that poll. I, at least, gave the guy a D. Guess I was being too kind. This must be a hack, righ...

Some time ago I came across a set of audio books online for the Harry Potter series. I am a big fan of the movies but have been told by many that (as any other movie made from a book) the movies don't do the stories justice and that a lot of interesting things get left out or changed somewhat. I am, however not a big fan of reading. No matter how hard I try, i can't read anything that has too many words on a single page followed by hundreds of pages. Let's just say my kids don't get much of bedt...

It's not so much the time change that bugs me. Sure the inconvenience of having to reset most of the clocks around the house that don't have a connection to the Internet or the Atomic Clock and the adjustments to the loss or gain of an hour for a few days could annoy most people. But there in lies the real problem for me. Things like this that create irritating people who's soul purpose seems to be to make sure everyone else who's not already irritated, irritated like them. Why do some people...

There's an old saying "Desperate times call for desperate measures". That saying is weighing heavily on many today. Lots of people without work, other spending less and saving more. Now a days making a buck is not as easy as it use to be. But there are some out there that are not letting this economic problem stop them from finding ways to make a buck. I have seen many smart ideas to make some extra money on the side. Everything from pet care, pet grooming, furniture movers, mobile car was...

As I wrote on my article Giving President Obama a chance; to break a promise Obama basically broke his promise of bring down pork spending to 1994 levels when he signed the Omnibus Spending bill. But Democrats can’t take all the blame for this shameful waste of money during a time when “fiscal responsibility”. as per Obama’s own words, should be this Administrations priority. For those who think some of us here on JU only have one agenda, to criticize everything Obam...

It's obvious many of us here have a difference of opinion when it comes to what we think is a good way to spend tax payers money in the US. Infrastructure, financial assistance, security, etc; we can all agree than many of these things are necessary and that our differences lay in the way it's implemented and how much should be implemented. These kinds of discussions is what makes this country the greatest country in the world, a chance to debate you opinions and hope to have them applied. Bu...

Following in my "giving President Obama a chance" series, I will post about President Obama's next act as President of the US. Bare in mind that this article will point towards an act that even his own people admit he will do and provided explanations as to why he will do it. The way I see it, I am giving him a chance and in the comment section I will express my feelings about this and would like to know what you readers think about this story. According to several sources online (see bottom ...
