Hey all, I have an HP Pavillion laptop, fairly new, with 2 160 GD hard drives and would like to replace the main drive with a bigger and faster drive, maybe a 500 GB WD 72,000 RPM. My question is this: My computer has the extra hard drive with the back-up to my Windows Vista that allows me to restore the computer to it's factory settings. Is there a way to transfer all of this to a new, bigger hard drive? Basically, I wanna keep the computer the way it is, but just with a bigger and faster...

I was born and raised in this country, the good ol' US of A. I love my country and am proud to be a citizen; am proud of those who gave their lives to defend it; am proud of those who fought hard to make this country the greatest country in the world. But I can't deny that the people of this country are plagued with imperfections. Recent political events have made me think about my fellow Americans in today's lifestyle. It is my opinion that Obama did not win the election because he was the b...

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4   I often wonder what some people where thinking when they go and buy (or maybe even regift) some of the toys they buy for those Christmas charities that come around ever year.   Every year the company I work for sets up boxes on every floor near every elevator for “Toys For Toys”, a foundation by the Marines. Every year the employees of my company...

OK, so I read a lot of stuff online from many sources and watch the news on TV from different channels and listen to the radio just about every day about the economy, what the Gov't is doing about and all the critics on how it should be done. There is one thing that is driving me nuts that I just can't seem to understand and was hoping some of you economic guru's here might be able to put in plain English for me to understand. I'm talking about the banks. The story I keep hearing is that t...

OK, so I have seen a few articles about dual booting XP on a Vista PC. I have also seen tons of websites with info on this but they all seem so confusing and they don't all seem similar so I can't get specific ways to do it. I would simply like a link to a site that explains how to dual boot XP on my laptop. Vista can sometimes be very slow on my laptop even with dual processors, 3 gigs of memory, an 8600 nVidia card and 360 GB of space. I just hope XP works better on it, I would like to play...

As some here know, I am a big fan of 80's music. I have a nice collection of 80's music that  is constantly growing. But there were some songs that for years I have been hunting down and had very little success in find, till recently. By late 1980's I was living in Puerto Rico after living the first 8 years of my life in New Jersey. It was not an easy transition from the city life to a farm-like atmosphere. Living in my small town was like living in a almost poverty like conditions. Thin...

So ever since this whole Housing/Credit/Economy crisis began to show it's ugly face, several people on JU and other blogs and media outlets have tried to propose solutions to this terror, destroyer of the American lifestyle. Some of these ideas seemed too complicated for me to understand and others just didn't seem like a real solution to the problem. An example would be the few articles I saw where the write said that the Gov't should just either give a huge amount of money to every American ($...

I remember years ago when movies were around $5 to $6 and we still had $1 and $2 theaters. 20 bucks got you plenty of people and plenty of food for the latest or at least something that came out about a month ago. Today, $20 can barely get 3 people thru the doors and you can forget about snacks. I went to the theaters this weekend to see Madagascar 2 with my wife and kids. It was a great movie, funny as hell, but it cost me $32 to get us in. But while I think the movie price is high, it pales...

Well, I finally voted. As sad as this may sound, this is actually my first time voting. For years I had very little interest in politics, but my political side began to itch just before I started hanging out in JU, right before Bush's second term. By then I still did not have the drive to get myself registered to vote so I missed out on voting in 2004 and when 2006 came, I was still not mentally ready. Well, that all changed this year. Seeing how things were going, I felt it was my duty as a ...

These are the words of a man supposedly from "The Black Panthers" who was standing at the entrance of a polling station in Philadelphia next to another "Black Panther" who was holding a nightstick. This is what an Obama Administration will bring to this country, and some claim we are ready for a Black President. Racism at it's best coming from the side who claims Republicans are racist. The BS in this country is mind-boggling and I hope Obama wins, the people of this nation deserve nothing le...

It's interesting what the Media finds important now a days. The economy is like a rollercoaster, our country is at war in 2 fronts, countries like Iran and North Korea playing with nukes, Obama wants to spread the wealth, Biden thinks Obama is not ready and Congress has the lowest approval ratings ever. And what is the Media concerned with? Where Sarah Palin shops for her clothes. Did I miss something here? Is this what people want to here 2 weeks before elections? Is Obama's campaign suffering ...

I am very interested in Barack Obama's ideas about fairness. I would like to take a  moment and talk about the word fairness. Fairness - The property of being fair Basically, to be fair, like having the same amount of players on each team when playing a game or sport or to split earnings 50/50 for equal work. But lets take the concept of playing a sport and explorer fairness a bit further. Let's take a basket ball game scenario. You gonna play a game of B-ball with some  f...

I find myself wondering about how most Americans truly see things in the US today. With the housing crisis keeping many people up at night, Wall Street shaking the US and every countries economy like dice in a cup, jobs being lost left and right and gas prices going up and down like Flubber (never slowing down); one would think Obama would be winning this election hands down. That Obama, being seen as our savior, the man with the plan, the One, he who will bring the change that is needed; would ...

Keep in mind that I am not well educated in the housing and financial world so forgive me if my question comes of as some what stupid. With housing prices dropping more and more due to the values dropping, it would seem that buying a house (ignoring wages and unemployment for this question) at this moment seems like the best time ever. I mean I have seen house go from over $500 thousand to within the range of $150 to $200 thousand. That is basically buying a house for less than half of what i...
