I always wonder why do some people tend to overdo popcorn when making it knowing the consequences? As I write this the smell of burning popcorn fills the air in my office because someone overcooked a bag of popcorn in the microwave. When we make popcorn at home we use the pre-set popcorn button on the microwave. It gives the right amount of time to pop the corn that's gonna pop. But some people feel the need to pop every kernel in the bag not concerning themselves with burning the ones that popp...

Bill, you never seize to amaze me. The man deserves some props, even if he is a Democrat. I actually found what he had to say about Palin quite respectable. For once a politician from the Democratic party comes out against Palin, in a nice way. "why say, ever, anything bad about a person? Why don’t we like them and celebrate them and be happy for her elevationto the ticket? And just say that she was a good choice for him and wedisagree with them?" These were Bill Clinton's words about Pali...

I wrote, what I considered, a very controversial article titled Are we really ready for a Black President? where I expected to either have a lot of insults thrown at me or so very interesting comments. While I did get some very interesting comments, I found it quite interesting (I like that word a lot) that very few people actually commented at all on my article. I was hoping to spark some kind of decent argument in the hopes of pushing the idea that talking about an issue could bring about ...

Warning - Some of the content of this article and it's comments may be offensive to some people. To be honest I could care less. I am tired of treating the racism issue like some kind of wet piece of toilet paper about to break. I plan on speaking my mind here and if you don't like it feel free to steer clear of this article. I only have one request for those who plan on commenting on my article below. Please avoid using profanity and racist comments on this article. While I, and ...

It seems that for that past few months JU has gone thru some major changes and with those changes many ups and downs. The truth is JU is not what it use to be. When I first came here JU was full of life, with great articles, awsome bloggers and enough information to keep me busy for hours. Now JU has gotten a bit slow, changes to the interface have scared some aways, others have felt used and abused by other bloggers and have decided to either take long vacations or extended ones. There are many...

Yes folks, it seems that being President of the US is not enough for a man named Barack Obama. The world may also be able to enjoy the leadership of a Mayor Barak Obama from the city of Belford Roxo, Brazil. According to guardian.co.uk (I also saw this on tv, possibly Foxnews), Brazil has this "quirk" in their laws where " candidates are allowed to run under the name of their choice ". Can you imagine a law like that here? Because Brazil has " one of the largest Afro-descendant populations ...

Time and again I ask myself why should candidates want me to vote for them based on how bad the other guy is according to them. Once again Obama and his campaign are out and about doing just the same, except he has "picking the wrong things to say and the wrong time" down to a science. From his wife's famous " For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country", to his "57 States" comments and his most recent "pig with lipstick" comment, Obama is sure making every effort to ...

First of all, let me say this article is not intended to insult anyone who has made any kind of donation to any charity whether you got a tax deduction or not. I think making donations is a very honorable thing to do, so long as you are not looking to gain financially from it. Thanks to some very interesting comments made on Boudica's article God doesn't need your money (worth a read, including the comments), this article was suggested to be created. Comments about charity and donations mad...

I don't know why but all of a sudden joeuser.com has shrunk on me and it's very annoying. The only thing I can remember doing was cutting and pasting and all of a sudden the web page would shrink. First it was the home page, then individual articles, now all the pages look shrunk. I did notice the pages were not showing to well (not organized as before with the different web page sections all over the screen rather than ther way they were before) ever since I saw the article about the site being...

I got this thru an email today, sounds like a good way to pick the next President. Subject: Fw: RETIREMENT How To Save the Government $5 Million A president's pension currently is $191,300 per year, until he is 80 years old. Assuming the next president lives to age 80. Sen. McCain would receive ZERO pension as he would reach 80 at the end of two terms as president. Sen. Obama would be retired for 26 years after two terms and...

Well I figured, since Little-Whip mentioned others can pick up on keeping the tradition of the Friday Five article, I would give it a try to see what I could come up with. My Friday Five is about 5 things that one would normally be expected to do but one either does or does not. Name 5 things you know of that is expected to be done yet either you do or don't do it. It was inspired by a recent trip to the supermarket where I can never park or leave the parking without having to move a bunch of...

Welcome to my new home. This is the apartments where I recently moved to. A really nice place. As you can see in the pic below it has a nice lake view: Here is what the lake view looks like from my apartment balcony: Not bad, kinda nice at night. Behind those trees is the main road, its nice not to have all that noise but still having the city life close by. But there's one thing I'd like you guys to notice about this pic. See that little spot in the red circle? Yea, that...

OK, I need some help from our local JU geeksquad (that's all you people who know a lot more about computers than I do). I am currently experimenting with PCLinuxOS. I have never used any other OS besides Windows but am curious to expand my PC knowledge and keep some open ption in case of future OS issues. Now, I have heard many times before how a Linux server is much better than a Windows server when it comes to have a home network. I currently have 3 PC's at home that currently share interne...
