Hey all, I have an HP Pavillion Laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium, fairly new. I like reinstalling Windows every so often on my PCs, it's nice to have a fresh install of the OS and software and I enjoy learning new stuff in the process. With my new laptop I simply need to restore to factory settings and install my software. But now I have a small but annoying issue and was hoping someone here could shed some light on it. I have a WD 500 GB hard drive from my old PC that I turned into...
Inspired but Little-Whip’s still eye popping story, I decided to follow suit and throw a story of my own from my past. Of course my story will not be as “oh my God” or “no way!” as hers but I’m sure it will be somewhat entertaining. I lived most of my teen years in Puerto Rico, strange enough they were both my best and worst times. Oh how I spent all those years falling in love left and right. Too bad I was the only one falling. Well, I was always the romantic type, I always wanted to...
Well, as I write this, my eyes water out of shear desperation. 32 years old and my accomplishments could be counted with a single hand with fingers to spare. For years I wanted to believe that I could change things, that I could make things better. That if I tried hard enough, that if I put enough work into it, I could turn things around for the better. It would seem fate was against me from the start and there was very little if any chance of success for me. Failure was already predetermined fr...
Inspired buy a paragraph on Roylevosh’s interesting article “ Masturbation is having sex with someone you love ”, I am curious to know 2 things from my fellow JU readers. For many years I have always wondered what I would do if I ever won the lottery. Most of the time I’d be happy with just winning the most basic lottery (usually $3 million). But it would be nice to with a big payout, especially when the Govt keeps about half of it in taxes. I usually think about the basics, the home...
So the big issue on everyone’s mind is gas prices. Like the odometer in a car, gas prices go up and up and up as if it were made of helium and don’t seem to be coming down any time soon. Because of this, as many on this site have blogged about on many great articles, people find themselves mostly cutting back on any kind of unnecessary travel time. Anything from public transportation to bike riding to carpooling is becoming popular and more common. Sales of gas economical cars are ri...
I think portable apps are the best thing ever created, especially for a person like me. Due to restrictions and company policies, I am not allowed to install any kind of software onto my work PC. Hell, I can’t even update the dam thing. Luckily I got myself a Sandisk 4GB Cruzer Micro with U3 software. This baby allows for software to be installed directly inside the memory stick without the need for it to be installed directly onto any PC. This is great such as if you need a word processin...
I have a saying, "I learn something new everyday". Regardless how much you know, tomorrow you may always learn something new. Oddly enough, I learned, what I consider, a very important piece of advise in a most unusual place. Even more interesting is how so many people have heard it before, are hearing it as you read this and will eventually hear it again. Yet somehow, many probably don't even see this piece of advise so plainly obvious, that is told to them. Why? Because the advise I ...
Many musical artists have very interesting styles of writing music. One of my favorites is those who tell a short story in the song. Especially stories that shock you in the end. The song Maria Teresa Y Danilo, played by salsa singers Hansel Y Raul tells the story of a rich family who’s father (Danilo) always dressed in suits and the mother Maria Teresa) always dressed in satin. The couple had 2 daughters, the older who wished to get married to her boyfriend. When the father met the b...
A couple of years ago, during my time in Puerto Rico, I would go to a local video store to get my fill of the latest DVD’s. While there I came across several VHS movies that I had seen as a child, brought back lots of memories. One movie, however, caught my attention, a movie I had not seen in years. I remember seeing Howard The Duck for the first time when it first came out in 1986. Back then this kind of animation was top of the line to some of us. I loved the movie; it was funny, cool a...
As Forest Gump puts it “It’s happens”, “Shit”, bad things happen to people unexpectedly. But how often does something very, very embarrassing happens to you? One time is more than enough as far as I’m concerned and it once happened to me. That was probably the worst day of my life, and it happened while I was a teen. It happened about 17 years ago, I was about 15 years old. At the time I was living in Puerto Rico in a small town where everyone knew ...
No, I am not gonna give details here of myself that may prone a stalker to find me and maybe even try to kill me. But considering most here know very little about me, I would like to talk about myself a bit here. I was born and raised in New Jersey and am of Puerto Rican background. I have always considered myself an American first, Puerto Rican second. I love my country and have always been proud to be American (even though being Puerto Rican would have still made me an American). I was ...
It would seem that Respect is not so much something that is earned on JU, but more like a reward for being invited to join a club or something. Some who come on this site are never really given a chance to become part of this community, they are labeled as “annoying” or something and regardless of what they do to change (if they do anyways), it’s too late. Then there are those who, from minute 1, reek havoc on this site to the point of driving everyone nuts and eventually getti...
Hello JU, how we doing? It's been nearly a month since I took a break. Due to habits I came around from time to time to take a peak at things. Looks like JU is getting back to normal little by little. I see some new names and many old ones still around. That's good, JU is a great place and would hate to see it go away for any reason (not that there was any talks about that, just me babbling). I look forward to coming back soon; I kinda miss the good discussions, the occasional fight...
Well the time has come for me to say good-bye. It may not bea permanent good-bye (I might come around again someday to see how things aregoing) though I’m sure some will hope it is. I have a few reasons for leaving;I find myself in a time where I seem to be using the Internet to hide from myproblems so I decided to cute back a bit and move on to other things in life. One of the reasons is that the site has gotten a bit slow, lacking interesting articles. It seems only the regulars pos...
I have 2 things I would like to know about Vista. I have Windows Vista Home Premium on a HP Pavilion Laptop witha 1.66 Dual core Pentium M and 3 gigs memory. 1st question is a problem. Every time I start up my wife's laptop Internet explorer runs and opens a blank page that turns the entire screen white. I either have to hit the windows button on the keyboard to be able to see the taskbar and right click it to close it or runs task manager and close it from there. Any ideas as to why? I have ...
