I think we are heading in the wrong direction when it comes to doing what is best for this country. We seem to be focusing more on those who have the ability to survive by their own will and ignoring or mishandling those who truly need our help. I despise any Gov’t program that gives free money, free food and free benefits to fully capable people who can work and make a living on their own. Having been on welfare and having family members on it, I can’t stand the idea of giving money to pe...

Sooner or later people will forget the US exist or ever existed. All thanks to our own people and the need to make as much money possible, especially from those who are not too fond of our country and people. In case you didn't know by the summer of 2009 expect to, most likely, see G.I Joe the movie, a movie that will probably call as much attention of the fans as Transformers did. Just don't expect to see "A Real American Hero". Nope, according to FoxNews.com : Paramount has confirmed...

In the latest development of over crowdedness in the US jail system, the police in DES MOINES, Iowa arrested a man who assaulted his father with none other than Chester Cheetah’s favorite weapon, a bag of Cheetos. Yes, this vicious man said to be on “methamphetamine at the time of the argument”, according to Fox News, went on a Cheetos rampage and threw the bag hitting his father in the face cutting him on the bridge of his nose. It is my opinion that the father should sue Chester Cheetah ...

I use to love working and eating at my uncles restaurant in Puerto Rico. Nothing like eating home made meals and snacks. Their sandwiches were the best in town and to be honest I have yet to find a place here in the US that can equal them. My mom was the cook, she is the best. Her cooking is not the kind where you have been eating it since you were born so it tastes good but terrible to others; trust me I have tried those before. Her cooking is that of everyone liking it. She’s got this magic...

There was a discussion a while back about how schools keep taking away games and stuff kids have been known to play for many years because of a few complaints (cry babies if you ask me). Most recently the elimination of the game of tag from a school in Colorado. In the discussion someone mentioned how now a day any kids can join a sports team, unlike before only those who could play the game made the team. I don’t know, it makes sense to me. If you can’t play baseball, why let you on the t...

Inspired by ModerateMan’s article “ NOW This one is guaranteed to blow your mind! ”, I came across some interesting facts about Americans and guns while doing some research (I’m learning, aren’t I?). Did you know that the US is the most armed country with 90 guns for every 100 people? That’s about 270 million guns in the US at this moment. Wow, that’s a lot of guns; all thanks to the US Constitution and its Second Amendment. India followed with 4 guns per every 100 people and China was thi...

Being part of the lower or poor class, I know what it’s like to struggle paying bills and not being able to enjoy the many wants life has to offer. I have never denied the ignorance of my bad money management ways, but I at least too the first step in admitting it and am working on fixing it, thanks to a few great JU people with some great advice and websites. Still, I come across people who I just have to question their choices when it comes to buying that which they can afford, in this c...

A dream come true, not what I expected, but good none the less. Yesterday my wife called me at work to tell me my son wanted to join a sports league. I had told my son that if he saw any sports he wanted to join in school to bring me the paper so that we can find a way to pay for it. Last year he brought papers from several sports but we could not afford to pay for him to join. They wanted the money the next day. I never played sports when I was young, doctors never gave my mom permission and as...

Thanks to Jythier and Tova7 for pointing me towards Dave Ramsey and his website. I joined the monthly newsletter and decided to try out the 30 day gift MyTMMO (My Total Money Makeover) plan for free. I look forward to fixing my credit and if all goes well, together with Little-Whip’s Identity Monitor from Citi (thanks LW as well) services I should be on my way to improving my credit and making better decisions from now on. For all those who find themselves in a hole with debt and mismanage...

In a story that’s been going on for years now, a woman called Elvira Arellano, an illegal immigrant from Mexico made her way to the US many years ago like so many others. She was already deported once but managed to make her way back to the US; but this time she managed to get a job cleaning airplanes at the Chicago Airport with a fake Social Security number. At the same time Elvira gave birth to her son Saul here in the US making him an American citizen. The FBI tried to take Elvira in fo...

(title changed)It’s kinda funny the things you find reading the many articles on JU. During my vacation away from posting on JU (since I was still looking around) I came across a comment made by Gideon in an article titled “Why do I hate telephones?”. An interesting article I might add, I do have similar feelings when it comes to telephones, its even worse when it comes to cell phones. Maybe I’ll write an article about it, similar to that of the writer of the article above. Anyways, the c...

This past week I saw an email from one of the big dogs in my company that sounded interesting. While seeing emails from him is not unusual, especially during this merger/takeover that’s going on where I work, this one in particular caught my intention, enough to write an article about it. See, there’s this apartment complex here in West Palm Beach, FL, called Dunbar Village, a low income housing project like many others. According to some people I have asked the place is very poor and so ...

I am always curious about those people who read statistics about how people’s dept are at an all time high and stuff but never really bother to learn from personal experience and/or talk to those the statistics speak of. Well get ready cause I’m gonna give it to you the way it is, for me anyways. Chances are this is a very common scenario amongst people in similar situations as mine. My credit began to spiral downward the day I got my first credit cards when I was 18 years old. One was a J...
